How to Remove Ink Tattoos

People who get themselves tattooed without thinking about it carefully often have to deal with ink tattoo removal later in life. If you want to get a tattoo out of the blue, you really have to think twice before plunging right it. The decision of whether or not you will get a permanent ink tattoo requires deep thought, consideration, and maturity because you will have to live with your tattoo for life or spend on painful laser removal treatments that are not really that effective.

If this piece of advice came too late and you are now regretting your decision of getting tattooed, the next step is to find ways on how you can remove ink tattoos. The most popular way to remove ink tattoos is to get them lasered off. However, some people cannot afford this or are just too afraid of undergoing treatment because laser removal treatment is known to be very painful. This article presents two alternatives that can help you remove ink tattoos. A section also discusses how laser treatment cannot be avoided if the two other alternative treatment plans failed.

Use a Concealer

If you are afraid to undergo surgery or laser treatment to remove ink tattoos, the best solution for you is something that does not require any physical treatment. You can use a blemish concealer to hide your tattoo. However, using only a blemish concealer may not suffice. What you have to do is to apply blemish concealer, dust it off with foundation powder that is the same as your skin tone, and add a finishing cream that will help make the area look as natural as possible.

It may be tedious work if you remove ink tattoos this way, but you really have no other choice if you don’t want to undergo surgery.

Long-Term Scrubs

Another option to remove ink tattoos is to undergo a long-term scrub treatment. The idea of scrubbing is exfoliation of dead cells to expose the newer and youthful-looking dermal cells underneath. Undergoing an extended period of scrub treatment on a regular basis may encourage your tattoos to fade. However, this is not an option for people who have very delicate skin and those who bleed easily (i.e. hemophiliacs). The only thing that long-term scrubs can promise is it will help your tattoo fade faster. However, it is not guaranteed that a 10-year scrub treatment can totally remove ink tattoos which are deeply embedded in your skin in the first place.

Laser Treatment

If all else fails or you just realized that body scrubs and constant makeup sessions are too tiring for you, your only option to remove ink tattoos is to undergo laser treatment. Laser treatment works by drying up the tattooed area of your skin, making it peel off to encourage new skin to come out. However, not all laser treatments are effective as tattoo residue may be left or the tattoo you removed may be replaced by ugly scars. If this is the case, skin grafting surgery may be recommended to totally remove ink tattoos and scars left by laser surgery.
