In as much as there are several advantages associated with the use of these creams, there are almost as many disadvantages that go with them.

• The first disadvantage lies in the fact that there is no guarantee that a tattoo removal cream would actually work in removing your tattoo. Although many have claimed to see results, there is no scientific basis for this and just as many have reported absolutely no difference in their tattoos.
• Many who have experimented with these creams have experienced allergic reactions varying from mild allergic reactions to severe reactions. Some have reportedly broken out in rashes after using the creams. This is largely dependent on the sensitivity of the user’s skin of course.
• Where tattoo removal creams do work, it can take ages for their effect to become apparent. This is because they work by fading the tattoo and this process could take a while.

The advantages and disadvantages of tattoo removal creams seem to balance each other out and even though many people are aware of the disadvantages, they still go ahead and use them. The truth is that if you have no allergic reaction to them, you have nothing to lose. They might work or they might not work. And if it fades even just a little bit, it means if you finally decide to make use of laser surgery, you would need fewer sessions.
